Fic: Somewhere I Belong

Title: Somewhere I Belong
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pairing: Spike/Buffy
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 307
Warnings: I guess this could be considered kind of angsty.
Summary: Spike and Buffy fight.
Disclaimer: If I owned them then I wouldn't have to play with them in stories.
A/N: Something short for my first Spuffy. This is the first story that I've written completely ambiguously. I really like how it works though. Title is a Linkin Park song. This is for the wonderful and amazing [livejournal.com profile] shannon2914 because she is the most awesomest friend ever ♥

They were fighting again. They were always fighting. They weren’t arguing, no. They were pounding on each other. It was what they did - it was who they were.

They fought until they were bruised and bleeding. It took a lot to make them bruise, and it took a lot to make them feel pain. They were strong, too strong, and they were evenly matched.

They were both, in their own way, dead. It made it hard to feel anything. It was probably why they fought. It was out of a need to feel something; it was the need to capture something that remained elusive.

There was a certain pleasure in fighting, though. Fists flying, legs kicking, it was a dance, a seduction, one that let them take out all of their frustrations on the world on somebody else who understood, somebody else who felt the exact same way.

They were both of them trying to fit into a world that neither of them belonged to. It was morbid how perfect for each other they really were. It was a lonely world, to be surrounded by people who couldn’t even pretend to understand how it felt.

They were both of them broken and neither would ever be whole. They were each a monster, in their own way.

They loved each other, sure. As much as anyone in their state could love, could feel. They could belong to each other in this world that they didn’t belong to. Neither would admit it, of course, but it was there. It was there in every punch, every kick, every bite, every touch, every kiss, every caress, and in everything else they did to each other.

The fighting and the fucking and the semblance of love was all they had. It was all they could give. For now, it was enough.

I'm glad you like!
There will be more. I promise. It's just a matter of when the muse decides to let me write it. Right now my muse demands Peter/Nathan. How can I refuse that? :)

Oh, you know- this has turned out to be one of my favorites. One of my other favorites is my other really short one- my first Petrellicest one.

They were both of them broken and neither would ever be whole.

But they fit...together.

This is still my favorite Spuffy that I've written.

And you're right. They do fit together. Thanks for reading :)
