It was something that Danny probably should have expected. It’s not like the man had ever been married or had a girl over for more than one night in a row. Not only did Super SEAL Steve McGarrett hog all of the covers, but he took up the entire bed as well.

Steve was lying on his back, limbs strewn carelessly about. Danny had one tiny corner of the bed. He could only lie on his side. If he tried to roll on his back, he would bump into Steve.

Danny sighed and considered pushing Steve out of bed. Steve would probably be up and swinging a punch at Danny before he ever even hit the ground. Best not to risk it.

Danny let out another sigh. He could get out of bed and find somewhere else to sleep, but this was the most comfortable place in the house. Well, it would be if a certain Commander knew how to share the bed.

Danny grumbled and got out of bed. He grabbed a glass of water and stood next to Steve. There was no way this was going to end well, but he was sick of nearly falling off the bed every night. Just to be safe, Danny moved Steve’s gun out of reach. He was just about to tip the water over Steve when he realized that if he did this, the bed would be wet and he wouldn’t get any sleep anyway.

He put the glass down and settled for flicking Steve in the ear. Steve grumbled and tried to swat Danny’s hand away. Danny flicked his ear again and this time Steve opened his eyes and looked up at him. “Is there a problem, Princess?”

“Yeah, Cupcake. You’re taking up the whole damn bed. If you don’t want to share your bed with me then just say so.”

Steve looked confused “Why haven’t you said anything before about this?”

Danny shrugged. “It’s not something that bothers me every night. I guess tonight I just couldn’t deal.”

Steve scooted over and pulled Danny down onto the bed with him. “Normally you can’t keep your mouth shut. It’s unusual for you to not tell me when I’m annoying the hell out of you.”

Danny huffed out a laugh. “Always the charmer, Cupcake.”

“Only for you, Princess.”

Danny rested his head on Steve’s shoulder. “Will you just learn how to share a bed?”

“I don’t know if I can do that, Princess.”

“Okay Cupcake. Just keep in mind that I nearly dumped a glass of water on you to wake you up.”

Steve narrowed his eyes at Danny. “You wouldn’t.”

“Oh wouldn’t I?”

“You’d be a dead man if you did.”

Danny laughed and slung his arm around Steve. Steve began running a hand along Danny’s back, slow and soothing. He would have never taken Steve for the type to cuddle, but he had been wrong. When he wasn’t asleep and taking up the whole bed, he always had to be touching Danny. Not that he had a problem with that.

Danny let out a contented sigh and fell asleep with Steve still running a hand along his back.
