The water flowed along his body, cooling him off, waking him up. He couldn’t hear Danny from this far away, but he could imagine that he was still muttering about crazy army guys.

Danny didn’t know how to swim, and Steve figured he might be able to get Danny in the water if he went in naked. He relished the feel of the water along every inch of his body.

He heard splashing and looked around to see Danny, his own swimming trunks suspiciously missing, slowly making his way towards Steve. Steve smiled and headed back to shore to meet Danny. This was going to be fun, even if Danny still didn’t learn how to swim.

He stood staring, wanting to look elsewhere but unable to. It hurt in more ways than he thought possible. Danny had promised him it was over with Rachel. He had looked Steve in the eye and lied to him.

Danny and Rachel were still kissing out in public, where anyone could see them. Where Steve could see them. It was something he would have expected of other people, but not Danny.

Danny had found a way into his life, into his bed, and into his heart. He thought he had found his way into Danny’s heart too, but he had been wrong.

He finally turned away from the scene in front of him. He had managed life before Danny Williams, he could manage life after as well.

The sound, so unfamiliar to him, was infectious and warmed him to his core. The laugh was so full, so free. It was completely different from the reserved man that he saw on a nearly daily basis. He curled further into Aaron, smiling and pressing kisses along his jaw and neck. Encouragement for the laughter.

He continued talking in between the small, gentle kisses, and got Aaron laughing again. It was a sound that he could get used to, a sound that he wanted to hear more often. Spence made a silent vow that he would make sure to get Aaron to laugh, just like this, at least once a day.

They watched as Jack went down the slide again, laughing with the other children around him. When they had woken up that morning, the day had looked promising, so they had decided to take Jack to the park.

It started raining, not enough to deter the kids from playing, so Aaron had told Jack he could keep playing. He looked at the younger man beside him, who was still watching Jack, and leaned in to kiss his cheek. Spencer turned to him, surprised. Neither of them were much for public displays. But the day was good and the rain was refreshing, and he wanted to kiss Spencer on the park bench in the rain, so he did.

He watched over the still form on the bed. The kid would do anything for him, had nearly died for him. Jethro sighed and laced his fingers through Tony’s. He had kept his feelings buried for so long knowing that it was possible that Tony would jump into a relationship with him because he couldn’t deny him anything.

He sighed again and removed his hand from Tony’s in case he woke up. That was of course exactly when Tony opened his eyes and peered up at Jethro. He clutched at Jethro’s hand, keeping him firmly in his grasp. He closed his eyes and fell right back to sleep. Jethro left his hand in Tony’s, figuring, for once, he would do something for Tony.

Captain Picard was talking, but he wasn’t listening. He couldn’t take his eyes off the man, who in just a few minutes would be his husband. He was waiting for something to go wrong or for Will to say the whole thing was a mistake, because there was no way that he was this lucky.

This was too good to be true. A teenage crush that had turned into so much more. It was real though, and had been for many years. He had been blown away when Will proposed, still wondering when he was going to wake up from this dream.

But as the metal band was fit snugly onto his finger, and Will’s lips captured his own in a kiss, he hoped that it was a dream he would never wake up from.

Peter’s huff at being kicked out of the kitchen turned into a glare when he saw a pair of blue eyes sparkling with amusement. He was forced from the kitchen, the meal they were cooking supposedly too advanced for him.

He smiled though as he listened to the sounds of laughter coming from the kitchen.

El was the first to walk out, placing a plate on the table and kissing his cheek. Neal was right behind her, smiling. He placed a dish on the table on the opposite side from where El had been, and kissed his other cheek.

Neal and El went back to the kitchen giggling like they had some private joke, while Peter scowled, though he was secretly smiling, at the two of them.

Daniel had nearly died, and he was supposed to wait until they were completely alone before he could show just how grateful he was that Daniel was still alive. He was getting tired of hiding his affections for Daniel because people in the country were still so bigoted.

Daniel was leaning heavily against Jack, still unable to walk on his own. Jack looked at all the people surrounding them. He knew Sam and Teal’c would back him no matter what. He cupped Daniel’s cheek and gently turned his face to his own. The kiss was sweet, but passionate, Jack’s fingers finding their way to Daniel’s hair.

Let everyone enjoy the show. He was done hiding.

The decision should be an easy one. Head upstairs and accept the invitation Charlie had given him, giving in to his own buried desires, or go back to his apartment, which would be the right choice. It should be easy. Leave. Keep the lust and the love for his younger brother buried deep within him. He shouldn’t feel like this. He shouldn’t want his brother.

But he had nearly lost Charlie today and doing what was right seemed even less appealing than it normally did. In the end, the decision really was easy. He followed Charlie up the stairs and hoped that his baby brother wouldn’t hate him in the morning.
