As far as Christmases went, this one was actually probably the worst. It was just him and Sam at Bobby’s. Sam, of course, didn’t even care that it was Christmas and that they were with Bobby.
It was incredible. The first Christmas in, well, in probably forever, where they actually got to have a normal one, and Sam wasn’t Sam. He didn’t think it could get much more fucked up than that.
He had asked Cas to join them, but he hadn’t seen or heard from the angel, and he had to admit that it hurt. It left this empty ache inside of him.
He took another eggnog - he’d already lost count of how many that was - and headed outside. He leaned against the Impala and thought about how fucked up it was that the lousiest Christmas ever was the one that he actually got to celebrate.
He was so lost in his own thoughts that he hadn’t noticed that Crowley had appeared beside him until he spoke up.
“Why so glum, darling?”
Dean glared at the demon. “What are you doing here?”
“Now, now. I asked first.”
Dean didn’t answer him. He just stood there and drank his eggnog.
“Right then; well, Bobby invited me.”
Of course. The growing friendship between Bobby and the demon worried him, but every time Dean brought it up, Bobby told him he had things under control and to mind his own business.
“I am sorry about Sam’s soul,” and with that, Crowley walked off. That made Dean wonder just how much time Bobby was actually spending with Crowley.
He groaned and followed Crowley back into the house. He was out of eggnog.
When he walked back into the house, he saw Bobby and Crowley laughing together and Sam staring at the television, looking for all the world like he had better places to be than here.
Dean briefly considered going for just straight rum, but he actually liked eggnog, so he settled for dumping some extra rum into his.
He sat next to Sam and watched Christmas movies with him, wishing that something would happen to make this a better Christmas. As soon as Dean thought that, Cas appeared. And he was smiling, really smiling, and it was directed right at Dean. He looked strangely proud too.
He knew he shouldn’t be grumpy with Cas, but he was just so frustrated with how today was going. “What are so happy about?”
“I have good news.”
“Did you win?”
“No, we are still at war.”
“Then what could possibly be so wonderful to have you smiling like that?”
Before Cas could answer, someone suddenly appeared beside him.
“Gabriel?”
“Deano! Did you miss me?” He was smirking like he had just pulled the world’s greatest prank, and maybe he had, because Gabriel had definitely been dead.
“How? Did God?” Cas had been brought back twice, yet the appearance of Gabriel somehow shocked him. He wasn’t sure why. He supposed he was just partial to Cas. Gabriel’s smirk was now directed at him, like he had seen Dean’s thoughts, and oh hell, he probably had.
“He did. Good as new.” Gabriel was beaming at them now. “Crowley! How the heck are you, you old devil you? I hear you’re the King of Hell now.”
Crowley just rolled his eyes. “Why is it that you lot can’t seem to stay dead when you die?”
Gabriel snorted. “Always the charmer, Crowley.”
“Okay, I hate to break up the lovely reunion, and don’t take this the wrong way Gabriel, because I am glad you’re back. You’re the only other angel I can tolerate besides Cas-“
“Aw, such flattery Dean.”
“-but are you really the good news that Cas was talking about?”
“That hurts, Dean. That really hurts.”
Dean rolled his eyes and groaned at Gabriel’s pouting.
“Fine. No, I’m not the good news that Castiel was talking about, but thanks for the warm reception.”
Dean had to bite back another groan. “Then what is the good news?”
Gabriel snapped and Dean, Cas, Bobby and Crowley were all standing on the other side of the room, and Gabriel was standing in front of the television where Sam had been staring the whole time.
Dean tried to get over to where Sam and Gabriel were, but Cas grabbed him and held on tight.
“You have to trust Gabriel, Dean.” He didn’t think he could. He had said that Gabriel was the only other angel he could tolerate besides Cas, and he meant it, but that didn’t mean he could trust Gabriel. On the other hand, Cas had both hands on Dean to keep him from moving, so he supposed he could just stand here. Besides, Bobby wasn’t freaking out and Crowley; Crowley was actually standing there with his jaw hanging down.
“Sammy!” Gabriel greeted Sam like he had done with Dean, but Sam just looked at Gabriel like he was a curiosity. He knew the old Sam would have been happy to see Gabriel though. After Gabriel had died, Sam had been visibly upset by it, though he refused to talk about it.
“Sammy, I have something that belongs to you.”
There was nothing fancy or extraordinary about it. There were no lights, nobody passed out, and it was almost like nothing happened. Except, one second Sam was staring at Gabriel like he was nothing, and the next, he was looking at Dean, tears streaming down his face.
“Sammy?”
“Dean.” Sam was up off the couch and halfway across the room before Dean unfroze and moved towards him. He was enveloped by his younger brother, and a few tears of his own managed to escape.
“Sammy.”
“I’m sorry, Dean. I’m so sorry.”
“I know. It’s okay. I know. You’re back now. That’s all that matters.”
“Sam,” a voice next to them said.
“Bobby.”
Suddenly, Dean’s arms were Samless as he moved over to hug Bobby. Gabriel and Crowley were talking, so when hands found their way to his shoulders, he knew they belonged to Cas. He turned to find the angel smiling at him. He swallowed hard, but now wasn’t the time.
He turned back to face where Gabriel and Crowley were standing. “Gabriel, how did you…I thought that it was likely that Sam would go crazy or worse because of what Lucifer and Michael were doing to his soul.”
Gabriel lost the smile he had been wearing since he had arrived. When he spoke, his voice was low and Dean had to struggle to hear it. He’d never seen the archangel like this.
“Sam’s soul was so beautiful. When I managed to get it, it was…what my brothers had done…” Gabriel shuddered. “It took a lot of time and even more energy, but Sam’s soul is as beautiful as it once was.”
“But how? Crowley and Cas both said that there was nothing to be done.”
Gabriel smirked at him. “Because I’m awesome.”
Dean snorted. Figures that would be the answer Gabriel would give. He felt Sam move next to him, and before he could even look Sam’s way, Gabriel had an armful of Sam. If Dean had been at a different angle, he wouldn’t have been able to see Gabriel at all.
Dean was glad he was at this angle though, because he wanted to laugh at the look of shock on Gabriel’s face. After he got over the shock, Gabriel smiled, a soft, sweet smile unlike any Dean had seen from him, and hugged Sam back.
He could tell that Sam was talking to Gabriel, but he couldn’t hear what they were saying. When Sam finally stepped out of the hug, which he seemed very reluctant to do, Gabriel turned to everyone.
“It’s Christmas, guys. Let’s celebrate.” A snap of his fingers and Bobby’s house looked like a Christmas store had thrown up on it. At the dinner table, a feast was waiting for them. Dean felt a little rush when Cas automatically sat next to him at the dinner table. It was Christmas, maybe it was finally time to do something about the feelings he’d been having.
They ate and drank and talked about everything that wasn’t supernatural. Dean was leaning back in his chair, his stomach pleasantly and overly full, when he noticed it.
“Gabriel, did you hang mistletoe?”
Gabriel just waggled his eyebrows at him, and next to him, Cas asked, “What is mistletoe?”
“That’s easy bro.” Gabriel snapped and mistletoe appeared in his hand. “This is mistletoe, and this is what it’s for.” He held it over his head, puckered his lips, and batted his eyelashes at Sam. Sam rolled his eyes and leaned over to kiss Gabriel.
Dean had figured it would be a quick peck on the lips, a little demonstration for Cas, so he was surprised when Gabriel dropped the mistletoe he was holding and grabbed Sam’s face.
“Not at the dinner table,” growled Bobby. “Some of us would like to keep our dinner down.”
Sam pulled out of the kiss blushing furiously. Gabriel looked a little dazed and a little smug. Dean glared at Gabriel, but Gabriel just winked at him. Dean decided to not even bother. Gabriel had changed. He had died for them, and he had obtained and fixed Sam’s soul. If that’s what Sam wanted, fine. He could do a lot worse.
Once Sam’s face had cooled down to a very faint pink, Gabriel snapped his fingers and everything was cleaned up. They made their way back out to the living room to watch some more holiday movies.
Bobby was the first to sit on the couch.
“Finally,” Crowley said. “You won’t be able to weasel your way out of this one.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Crowley didn’t say anything, he just pointed above Bobby. Bobby looked up.
“Oh hell.”
In the blink of an eye, Bobby had a lapful of Crowley, who was eagerly trying to shove his tongue down Bobby’s throat. Bobby seemed to be reluctant at first, but he was soon kissing Crowley back just as eagerly.
“Seriously? I do not want to watch this. First Sam and Gabriel, and now the two of you.”
Dean walked over to the seat that was furthest from Bobby and Crowley, but stopped when Cas spoke up, hesitantly. “Dean.”
Oh hell no. Not him too. He turned around to face Cas, and sure enough, Cas was looking over his head. Dean closed his eyes. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, it was just that he’d rather his first kiss with Cas be a little more private, and definitely not in front of his brother.
“No. No way am I getting- mmph.” He was cut off mid rant by Cas kissing him. Dean’s arms automatically wrapped themselves around Cas, pulling the angel closer. It was better than all of the times he had allowed himself to imagine it, even with Cas’ lack of expertise. He didn’t want this to end.
“You’re gonna bitch about me kissing someone in my own damn living room, and then stand there and do it yourself? You’ve got some nerve.” There was no heat behind Bobby’s words though; in fact, when he pulled away blushing, he was pretty sure he saw Bobby smiling at them. Then he noticed that Gabriel was smirking.
“You planned this, didn’t you?”
Gabriel just continued smirking and held up his hand. “Gentleman, consider this another Christmas gift. See you all in an hour.” He snapped and Dean found himself in a luxurious bedroom with just Cas, who had his head titled.
“The others are nearby. They are in rooms similar to our own.”
He didn’t care. It was Christmas and Sam was whole again. Nothing else mattered except for the angel standing in front of him. He pulled Cas into his arms and kissed him. He had an hour alone with his angel, and he intended to take full advantage of it.

As promised, an hour later, they were all back in Bobby’s living room. Cas was leaning against him and Dean had his arms around him. Gabriel was practically curled up in Sam’s lap. Bobby’s arm was around Crowley.
Everyone looked happy and relaxed. He caught Sam’s eye and they smiled at each other. Finally, something in their lives had gone right.
As it turned out, it was the best Christmas ever. So far.

Lucifer/Gabriel. That's interesting. I haven't read Gabriel with anyone except Sam and Crowley.
If we do Crowley Big Bang he's definitely going to be with Gabriel.
It will take some time to set up. We'd have to figure out dates and rules and various other things. We'd have to make the comm all pretty and then we'd have to have time for signups.
I wonder if there would be enough interest.

Yeah I dunno it somehow came to me so here I am with Lucifer and he really is a pain sometimes.
I might write Crowley with Lucifer too, I have an idea I someday want to write so... xD
It definitely will, well rules shouldn't be that hard, dates might be harder but maybe we could get some help from the mods at Gabriel BigBang, they have experience after all.
Can you make layouts? Because I have honestly no idea how to do a layout.
I dunno but I think so, Crowley is very popular after all, we would have to advertise it the right way.
